One killed, 10 hurt in Gazipur train derailment It is an act of sabotage: Police

One person was killed and 10 others were injured when the engine and several compartments of a Dhaka-bound Mohonganj express train derailed as around 20 feet of the railway track was cut off by unidentified miscreants near Bankharia area of Joydebpur in Gazipur early Wednesday.
According to local administration, the tragic accident occurred at around 4 am and the miscreants cut the track off using gas cutter.
The train communication between Joydebpur and Mymensingh remained suspended following the derailment.
The rescue team arrived in the morning after the incident and started the rescue work and repair of the railway line. Rescue teams are continuing their work till 7 pm.
The deceased has been identified as Md Aslam Miah, 45, a businessman hailed from Gafargaon in Mymensingh. The injured were admitted to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital in Gazipur.
Joydebpur Railway Station Master Hanif Ali said the Dhaka-bound Mohonganj Express train reached Joydebpur station early on Wednesday and subsequently after after going some distance from the station.
The train communication will resume after the repairing of the railway line.
Gazipur Deputy Commissioner Abul Fateh Md Shafiqul Islam said the accident occurred as the miscreants cut off the rail tracks using a gas cutter.
