The second batch of Bangladesh Cricket team left the city for New Zealand on Monday night to play three-match One Day International (ODI) series and three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against New Zealand at the different venues of New Zealand.
Earlier, Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the Captain of Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team, while Najmul Hossain Shanto acted as his deputy on that time.
But now Najmul Hossain Shanto is the Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team.
Earlier, Shanto led the Tigers at the abroad for two times.
He acted as the stand-in Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team.
Most of the cricketers of the Bangladesh Cricket team left the city for New Zealand on Saturday last.
The coaching staff of Bangladesh Cricket team accompanied with them.
The cricketers, who took part in the recently concluded Test series, left the city on Monday night.
They are: Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Hasan Mahmud, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shoriful Islam left the city on Monday night.
Before leaving the country, Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Najmul Hossain Shanto said, ” Our target will be to win the match against New Zealand there.
We want to win the series. I think the target will be like that. If we can end the year with a good note, it will be helpful for us.”
Bangladesh will take on New Zealand in the first ODI on December 17 at Dunedin, The Tigers will face the Kiwis in the second ODI on December 20 at Nelson, Bangladesh will meet New Zealand in the third ODI on December 23 in Napier.
The three ODIs will start at 4.00am (Bangladesh Standard Time).
Bangladesh will take on New Zealand in the first T20I on December 27 at Napier, The Tigers will face the Kiwis in the second T20I on December 29 at Mount Maunganui on December 29, Bangladesh will meet New Zealand in the third T20I at the same venue on December 31. The first T20Is will begin at 12.10pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).
The last T20I will start at 6.00am (Bangladesh Standard Time).
