Maxwell eyes Test return in 2025

Australia batter Glenn Maxwell is hoping to make a return to Test format with the series in sub-continent at the end of the World Test Championship.

Australia will be playing against Sri Lanka at the beginning of 2025 to play in the Warne-Muralitharan Trophy which would the crucial for the Aussies to run into the World Test Championship final later that year.

“I’m quite understanding the circumstances of the current side. They’re playing some really good cricket, they’re World Test champions,” Maxwell said.

“There’s not a lot of spots up for grabs as far as Tests at home, but I know that when it does come to a sub-continent tour I can be a real viable option to hopefully fill a role in that side,”
