Staff Reporter :
Jatiya Party (JaPa) on Wednesday announced that it will participate in the upcoming 12th parliamentary election which is set to be held on January 7.
“Jatiya Party has decided to join the next polls as we are assured by the government and the Election Commission that the vote will be free and fair.
Japa will field candidates in all the 300 seats without participating any alliance,” Japa Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu said it at a press briefing at the party chairman’s Banani office.
Chunnu said party chairman GM Quader made the decision of participating the parliamentary election.
“As of noon, Japa has sold nearly 1,400 nomination forms.
More than one interested candidate has collected the nomination forms in almost every seat,” Chunnu said.
“The party will not compromise any seats this time. We won’t engage in seat-sharing with any party,” Chunnu said.
He said that the Jatiya Party upholds transparent politics, maintaining a clean record free from corruption allegations.
“Over the past 33 years, people have appreciated our peace-centric approach,” he said.
