Bangladesh drew 1-1 with Lebanon in FIFA World Cup qualifier at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital on Tuesday.
After a barren first half, attacking midfielder of Lebanon Majed Osman put his team ahead in the 67th minute of the match.
Majed Osman got the ball on his way at the danger zone of Bangladesh from a cross of his teammate but defenders of Bangladesh and Bangladesh goalie. Thus, Bangladesh conceded the goal.
After five minutes, Morsalin of Bangladesh got the ball at the D-box of Lebanon and Morsalin leveled the margin by a forceful shot (1-1).
Earlier, Bangladesh suffered a 0-7 goals defeat to mighty Australia in their first match of their FIFA World Cup qualifier at Melbourne in Australia recently. It was Bangladesh’s away match.
On the other hand, Lebanon played a goalless draw with Palestine in their first match of the FIFA World Cup qualifier at Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates recently.
According to the latest FIFA ranking, Lebanon have achieved the 104th position, while Bangladesh have taken the 183rd spot.
But yesterday, Bangladesh showed that there was no difference between Bangladesh and Lebanon.
Bangladesh got the first chance in the 10th minute of the game.
Fahim of Bangladesh failed to use the cross of Morasalin.
Bishwanath’s header was gripped by Lebanon Custodian in the 24th minute of the game. He got the ball at Lebanon’s danger zone from a corner kick of Jamal Bhuyan.
After one minute, Morsalin gave a pass at the Lebanon D-box but a defender of Lebanon cleared the ball before Sohel Rana struck the ball.
In the 33rd minute, Morsalin failed to utilize a cross of Fahim.
Bangladesh’s another attempt was foiled by a defender of Lebanon just before the lemon-break.
After the intervals, Lebanon got an easy chance but the Lebanon striker hit the ball just outside the Bangladesh goalbar.
Bangladesh got the easiest chance in the 89th minute but Morsalin hit the ball outside the Lebanon D-box, though Morsalin got the ball at the D-box of Lebanon.
