Govt to list sick industries

The industries ministry has taken initiatives to make a list of sick industries which have been suffering since 2012.
The companies, which is eager to enlist themselves as sick industry have to submit application following some criterions, a industry ministry notification, said.
The notification, issued on November 15, said “in view of the above matter, it is informed that the ministry has taken the initiative to formulate the necessary recommendations to solve the problems of the existing sick industries in the country and to prepare a list of the such industries after 2012, considering the current condition as well as including the condition during the Covid-19 situation.”
For that purpose, applications are being invited from the concerned entrepreneurs in the prescribed form.
The application form has been made available on the website of the ministry as well as on the websites of related business organisations like FBCCI, BCL, Bangladesh Association for Promotion & Rehabilitation of Industries (BAPRI), NASCIB, BKMEA, BGMEA, Bangladesh Sick Industries Association.
In this case, the soft copy of the filled application form with the relevant information should be sent to the following e-mail and hard copy to the Deputy Secretary (BIRA), Ministry of Industries, 91, Motijheel B/A, Dhaka-1000 by 15 January, 2024.
The concerned entrepreneurs have been requested to submit.
