40 injured in Bhairab over land dispute, supremacy

A clash over land dispute and supremacy on Saturday afternoon left at least 40 people of two feuding injured in Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj.

The clash took place at Badhunagar village of Srinagar union of Bhairab upazila. The police came and brought the situation under control.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Private clinics including Bhairab Government Hospital.

Among them, Shah Alam (45), Asab Uddin (40) and Jaher Mia (55) have been sent to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital.(SSNIMCH)

According to local sources, Khalek Mia of Farsar’s father’s house in Badhunagar village wanted to build a house on the family road and was prevented by his nephew Emad Mia.

Both parties argued about this. At one point their people clashed.

The clashes spread to the entire village when people from neighboring groups joined the three hours -long clash. At this time,35 to 40 men from both sides were injured and undergoing treatment at Upazila Health Centre and private clinics.

Bhairab Model Police Station, Inspector Abdur Rahman said that the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Additional Police deployed in the area.
