Bangladesh Football team lost to Australia Football team by seven goals to nil in the FIFA World Cup (WC) qualifiers at Melbourne in Australia on Thursday.
It was Bangladesh’s away match of the FIFA WC qualifiers against the stronger Australia. According to the latest FIFA ranking, Australia have achieved the 27th position, while Bangladesh have taken the 183rd spot.
Besides, Australia played in the FIFA World Cup 2022. Australia moved to the second round and then out of the World Cup after suffering defeat to champions Argentina in the Qatar World Cup.
Earlier, Bangladesh played against Australia in their FIFA World Cup qualifiers in 2015.
Bangladesh suffered a 5-0 defeat to Australia in their away match at Perth in Australia and Bangladesh tasted a 4-0 defeat to Australia in their home match at Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh.
However, Bangladesh trailed the first half by 0-4 goals.
It may be mentioned that an Australian forward was roughly charged by Bangladesh defender Shakil at the danger zone of Bangladesh in the 88th minute of the match.
Thus, the referee awarded a penalty kick in favour of Australia. Bangladesh goalie Mitul Marma saved the penalty kick by a spectacular performance.

He got chance Shakil and Morsalin to play in second half. But they could not change the fate of Bangladesh.
