BAU holds annual seminar, best publication award ceremony

The Annual Seminar and Best Publication Award Ceremony 2023, organised by Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) Teachers’ Association, was held at the Syed Nazrul Islam conference Hall of the university, Mymensingh on Tuesday. The ceremony awarded the top 20 researchers for the year 2023 in 5 categories.
Prof Dr. Haseena Khan, Member of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh UGC graced the ceremony as chief guest. Vice-chancellor of the university Prof Dr. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury addressed the seminar as chief patron while President BAU teachers’ Association Prof Dr Muhammad Aslam Ali was in the chair.
Dr. Md. Abul Mansur convener Dean Council was present as special guest and Prof Dr. Sukumer Saha, Director, IQAC, delivered keynote speech focusing the importance of quality assurance in the university education system through formal accreditation in order to produce high quality BAU graduates. Vice president of BAU teachers’ Association Professor Dr. Amirul Islam delivered the welcome address. Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam, General Secretary of BAUTA, moderated by the ceremony.
From the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Prof Dr. Ziaul Haque, Dr. Momena Khatun, Jointly Dr. Rokshana Parvin and Prof Dr. Mohammed Nooruzzaman, Prof Dr. Md. Tanvir Rahman have been awarded for the Home, Foreign, Collaborative and Review category, respectively. In the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof Dr. Md. Zakir Hossen, Dr. Sakil Mahmud, Dr. Khondokar Humayun Kabir, and Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Hannan have been awarded for Home, Foreign, Collaborative and Review Category, respectively. Prof Dr. Mohammad Moniruzzaman and Prof Dr. Syed Mohammad Ehsanur Rahman received the award in Home and Review category under the Faculty of Animal Husbandry. From the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Dr. Machbah Uddin and Dr. Md. Touhidul Islam have been awarded for home and foreign research category.
Prof Dr. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman Khan, Dr. Md. Fuad Hassan have been awarded for Home and Foreign category of the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology. From this faculty, Prof Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam received the award for both Collaborative and Review category. From the Faculty of Fisheries, Prof Dr. Md. Shahjahan has been awarded both for Collaborative and Review category. Not only that, Prof Dr. Shahjan also received the award in another special segment called the highest number of publication category. Prof Dr. Shahjahan has been recognized as the BAU Researcher of the Year 2022 for his outstanding contribution with 18 Scopus-indexed publications in a single calendar year.
