Bangladesh will take on South Africa (SA) in their fifth match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai of India today. The Day/Night affair will start at 2.30pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).
Private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live.
South Africa collected six points from four matches, while Bangladesh earned two points playing as many matches.
Bangladesh made an auspicious start in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup defeating Afghanistan by six wickets in their first match on October 7.
The Tigers tasted a massive 137-run defeat to defending champions England in their second match on October 10.
Bangladesh suffered a huge eight-wicket defeat to New Zealand in their third match on October 13.
Bangladesh lost to India by seven wickets in their fourth match on October 19.
On the other hand, South Africa had a good start in their ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup as they thrashed Sri Lanka by 102 runs in their first match on October 7.
South Africa retained their winning streak defeating Australia by 134 runs in their second match on October 12.
The Proteas lost to the Netherlands by 38 runs in their third match on October 17.
South Africa defeated reigning champions England by 229 runs in their fourth match on October 21.
Before today’s match, the Tigers and the Proteas faced each other in four matches in ICC ODI World Cup.
Of them, Bangladesh recorded two victories, while South Africa won in the two occasions.
It may be mentioned that Bangladesh won over South Africa by 2-1 in the three-match ODI series in South Africa in their latest clash, which concluded last year.
Bangladesh Cricket squad took part in their practice session on Monday. Shakib Al Hasan & Co. participated in the training session. Shakib did batting for a long time.
So, It is almost confirm that Shakib Al Hasan will play today’s match against South Africa.
Pacer Taskin Ahmed could not bowl in the practice session due to injury.
He took part in the warm-up session.
Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy did batting in the net session.
Pacers Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud bowled in the net session.
It is noteworthy that South Africa defeated the reigning champions at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
So, the wicket of the stadium is very match known to them.
If Bangladesh make any mistake here they will bring disaster for them.
