No security threat marking Durga Puja: DMP commissioner

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman said that there is no security threat centering the Durga Puja ahead of the national elections.
The DMP commissioner said this while replying to reporters after visiting Dhakeshwari temple on Thursday morning.
At the time, he also said that DMP has taken enough security measures at some 248 mandaps in the capital Dhaka, marking the festival of Durga Puja.
Everyone has to strive so that the immersion of idols can be completed within a certain time, without any problem. Naval Police forces were also kept alert, he said.
RAB, police and plain dressed detectives were deployed in all temples, he added.
Manindra Kumar Nath, president of Dhaka City Puja Celebration Committee; Ramen Mandal, its secretary, and senior officials of DMP were present on the occasion.
