Chile president makes brief stopover at Dhaka airport

An aircraft carrying Chilean President Gabriel Boric and his entourage made a brief stopover at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for refuelling in the early hours of Thursday on the way back to Santiago from Beijing.
Boric was returning home after attending the Belt and Road summit in the Chinese capital.

Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen were there at the airport.

An aide to the information minister told Dhaka Tribune that the president had not disembarked from the aircraft.
