Bangladesh Cricket team will take on India Cricket team in their fourth match of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Cricket World Cup at Maharashtra Cricket Association Cricket Stadium in Pune of India today.
The Day/Night affair will begin at 2.30pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).
Private satellite sports channel T Sports, private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live. Bangladesh have to win today’s match, if they want to reach the semi-final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, the mega cricket event of the whole world.
Bangladesh made a good start as the Tigers posted an easy six-wicket win over Afghanistan in their opening match on October 7.
The Tigers lost to defending champions England by 137 runs in their second match on October 10.
Bangladesh suffered a massive eight-wicket defeat to New Zealand in their third match on October 13.
On the other hand, favourites India made a good start as they thrashed Australia by six wickets in their first match on October 8.
Hosts India retained their winning streak defeating Afghanistan by eight wickets in their second match on October 11.
In-form India kept their winning row beating their arch-rivals Pakistan by seven wickets in their third match on October 14.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh faced India in four matches in ICC Men’s ODI World Cup. Of them, India recorded three victories, while Bangladesh won only one match.
Bowling Coach of India Cricket team Paras Mhambrey said, “Bangladesh are tough side. But I don’t think about any upset.”
He said, ” All the participating teams of World Cup are challenging. We don’t take any team lightly. We always discuss not to underestimate any team. May be upset can be happened, but all the matches are equal to us. It may be Netherlands or Bangladesh, all the matches are important for us.”
Meanwhile, Shakib’s availability in the high-pressure match against India was uncertain due to his injury.
Bangladesh team will wait for Captain Shakib al Hasan’s availability, who is suffering from a thigh injury, till the last minute against host India in Pune today (Thursday).
“We did the scan today. We are waiting for the results. He is fine at the moment. He didn’t bowl though. Tomorrow morning the result will come and we will see him again and decide. If he’s not ready to play, we don’t want to risk him. If he is ready, he will play.” said Bangladesh Head Coach Chandika Hathurusingha in the pre-match press conference on Wednesday.
