Two killed in clash at Ukhiya Rohingya camp

Two members of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) and Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) were killed in separate incidents at Ukhiya Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Chakmaya Yusuf and Arafat.

A clash broke out between RSO and ARSA men in Camp-8W area early Wednesday over internal conflict and establishing supremacy.

At one point, Chakmaiya Yusuf, top commander of ARSA’s “Killing Group”, was shot by the RSO. His throat was slit in the incident.

Armed Police Battalion-14 (APBn) Commander Mohammad Iqbal confirmed the matter to the media saying that the two groups clashed over establishing supremacy.

A person named Yusuf alias Chakmaya Yusuf was killed there. He is a resident of Camp-9 area. He was wanted in three murder cases.

Wishing anonymity, a leader of Rohingya camp said Chakmaya Yusuf received bullet injuries during a clash between ARSA and RSO on Tuesday night.Later, he was murdered.

Following the issue, ARSA members attacked camp-15 and killed a member of RSO on Wednesday morning.
