13 more die of dengue

The country on Tuesday witnessed 13 more fatalities from dengue while another 2,799 patients of the mosquito borne-disease were admitted to hospitals in different districts during the last 24 hours.
“The authorities recorded 1,030 dengue deaths between January 1 and October 3 this year,” a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
The press release said also, “During the period, 682 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city while 2,117 were admitted to different hospitals outside the capital city.”
With the new cases, the total number of patients rose to 2,11,683 the statement said.
About 2,01455 patients were released from different hospitals out of the total patients this year.
A total of 9,198 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
Of them, 2,940 are in Dhaka while 6,258 are outside of the capital city, the data showed.
The authorities have recorded the highest number of dengue positive cases outside Dhaka in August this year, which indicated that the vector-borne disease spread the whole country.
The health experts said dengue disease is changing its nature and it is gradually spreading across the country.
The authorities recorded 79, 598 dengue positive cases in September while 396 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease during the same period.
