Int’l Right to Information Day observed in C’ganj

The The International Right to Information Day was observed on Wednesday in Chapainawabganj with the slogan “Importance of internet in free flow of information.”
Chapainawabganj District Administration organised a discussion meeting in association with the Committee of the Concerned Citizen (CCC) of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) at the Conference Room of the Deputy Commissioner of Chapainawabganj to mark the day.
Held with the additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC, General) Ahmed Mahbub-Ul-Islam in the chair it was attended by the deputy commissioner AKM Galiv Khan as the chief guest.
Chief executive officer of Chapainawabganj Zila Parishad Md. Afaj Uddin and additional superintendent of police (Finance and admin) Abul Kalam Sahid attended it as special guests.
Member of the CCC N.S.M. Mahbubur Rahman Mintu gave the welcome speech in the meeting with the presentation of the vice president of the CCC Golam Faruk Mithun.
Among others, executive engineer of LGED Mozahar Ali Pramanik, district information officer Waheduzzaman, Area manager TIB of Chapainawabganj Safikul Islam and journalist Azizur Rahman Shishir spoke on the occasion.
The speakers stressed on ensuring free flow of information so that people can get the best advantage of the ‘Right to Information Act-2009.
Bangladesh is proceeding towards building the country as Smart Bangladesh as dreamt by the prime minister Sheikh Hasina, they added.
The DC asked all the official heads to keep their official web portal updated to ensure information for the people.
