No Tamim Iqbal as Bangladesh announces World Cup squad

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Tuesday the 15-member Bangladesh Cricket squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup, which is scheduled to be held at the different venues in India from October 5 to November 19.

Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal has been dropped from the squad. Experienced Mahmudullah Riyad has been included in the squad.

Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will lead the Bangladesh Cricket squad as the Captain.

Promising Tanzid Hasan Tamim has been replaced instead of Tamim Iqbal. Tanzid Hasan may get chance to open the in the World Cup matches with prolific opener Litton Das. Besides, all -rounder

Mehidy Hasan Miraz will be available to open for the Tigers.

Promising pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib has been included in the squad. He became controversial after giving a contradictory status on his Facebook recently.

A total of five pacers have been included in the squad.

They are: Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

The players, who have been included in the squad, are: Shakib Al Hasan (Captain), Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, Nasum Ahmed, Mahedi Hasan Miraz and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
