Youth held along with iron pipes of Rampal

A contingent of Khulna district detective branch of police conducted a raid near at Batiaghata Police Station and arrested a youth along with some 20 pieces of iron pipes stolen from Bangladesh-India Friendship Thermo Power PlanT at Rampal under Bagerhat district.

It is learnt from a source of the detective branch of police that at the night of Thursday at about 12 pm police arrested the accused youth named Abdullah Sardar (son of one Mujibor Sardar of Chunkuri area under Dakop Upazila) from the eastern bank of a river passes by the side of a grocery shop belonging one Shaylen Roy of village Gopalkhali under Botiaghata Upazila in Khulna district and recovered 20 pieces of iron pipes weighing 357 kgs from there. In this connection SI Shaikh Imrul Kayes lodged a case with Batiaghata PS under Penal Code Act.

It may be mentioned here that 3 thieves were arrested along with 245 kgs copper coils worth about Tk 2 lakh of Rampal Power Plant in the early hours of Thursday from the gate No.1.
