Arbitrator killed in Feni

Arbitrator Rauf was killed while settling a land dispute in Pathannagar of Chagalnaya upazila of Feni on Friday.

According to local sources, a local village arbitration meeting was held to mitigate land dispute between Md. Mamun and his brother Md. Mizan after the Eshar prayer.

At one stage of the meeting, Mamun’s son Arman Imam hit Salishdar Abdur Roop (70) with a sabal after being displeased with some of the statements made by the arbitrator.

The people present rescued Abdur Roop in a dazed state and took him to Feni General Hospital for treatment, but the doctor on duty declared him dead.

His body is currently at the Feni General Hospital Mortuary.

On receiving the information, the police of Chhagalnaya police station visited the spot and arrested three people including one brother Mamun and his wife on suspicion of involvement in the incident.
