JUBOF felicitates scholarship programme

Jahangirnagar University BCS Officers’ Forum (JUBOF) on Saturday felicitated awarding scholarships among the students of the university for academic excellence at the undergraduate level.

The forum organized the programme at around 3:00pm at the Senate Hall of the university.

JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Nurul Alam handed over the cheque and certificate to 39 students from different faculties and institutes.

Addressing the function, JU VC Prof Nurul Alam said, “University is run by the money of the masses.

So, you, the students, have the responsibility to work for the welfare of the society as well as the state.”

JUBOF President and Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Senior Secretary Ahmed Munirus Saleheen said, “We are the beneficiary of the independent state which was led by Bangabandhu. Without independence, we can’t imagine ourselves in the highest positions of the university or the state.

For these liabilities, we have to take various initiatives for the welfare of the alumni of the university as well as the state.”

JUBOF Secretary and Deputy Commissioner (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Abdul Ahad said, “We took the initiative for the first time after the establishment of our organization.

Hopefully, we will bring out the undergraduate level under the scholarship on the upcoming days.”

The programme was conducted by Associate Professor of Government Titumir College Abdullah Al Mamun while Pro-VC (Academic) Prof Mostafa Feeroz, Member of Planning Commission (Secretary) Abdul Baki, former Income Tax Commissioner Bazlul Kabir Bhuiyan, acting Dean of Social Science Faculty Prof Bashir Ahmed, JU Statistics Department Chairman Prof Alamgir Kabir, among others, spoke on the occasion.
