Magura gunman still at large

A photo and video of a youth with arms during the clash between the BNP and the Chhatra League in Magura has gone viral on social media.

This incident has created a lot of excitement among the locals.Police are looking for the youth.

However, even a day after the incident, his identity could not be confirmed.

Speaking to eyewitnesses, it is known that a procession of BNP was coming from the direction of the district judge’s court on Wednesday afternoon.

A part of the procession crossed Chowrangi Junction and entered Syed Atal Ali Road.

At that time, a group of Chhatra League attacked the procession with sticks and brickbats.

The procession was dispersed.After some time, BNP men also chased BCL workers towards College Road with batons.

Then a gunshot was heard from the direction of College Road.

Later, local residents also saw bullet shells.

In a video that went viral on social media overnight, a young man wearing a cap can be seen brandishing a firearm.

Police say they did not hear any gunshots.

However, a picture of a young man with a weapon has come to the fore.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the gunman was with BCL group.

When asked whether the young man with the weapon is a BCL worker or not, District BCL General Secretary Hamidul Islam said, “It is not clear whose picture it is or when it occurred.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Magura Sadar Police Station Sheikh Sekender Ali said that no case has been registered in the incident of Wednesday’s clash.

The image of a young man with a weapon has come to our attention.

We are trying to confirm the identity of that young man.

He will be arrested only if his identity is known, the OC added.
