Workers, raped Beggar at Feni brick kiln, 5 held

A beggar was raped by workers at a brick kiln in Feni.

Five youths arrested in the incident at ABM brick kiln of Chanua Union of Feni Sadar Upazila on Monday afternoon they were sent to jail through the court on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the police and related sources, a woman was begging in the Lemua market of Feni Sadar upazila around noon on Monday.

A young man named Minhaj called her to the nearby ABM brick kiln and raped her in turn.

At one point, the woman came to the Dhaka-Chittagong highway and started shouting.

Immediately the people around came forward and caught 5 people from the brickyard for their involvement in the incident and handed them over to the police.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Feni Model Police Station, Mohammad Shahidul Islam Chowdhury, said that the woman victim filed a case against 3 unidentified persons in the name of 8 people in Feni Police Station on charges of gang-rape for helping Brickfield.

5 accused in the case named Samir, Delwar Hossain, Tarek, Ramzan Ali, Babu have been arrested and sent to jail today (Tuesday). All those arrested are residents of Noakhali district.

Efforts are on to arrest the fugitive accused Mehraj, Ridon and Salahuddin named in the case.
