Press confce, counter press confce in connection with clash between JaPa-SL in Barishal

Press conference and counter press conference were held in connection of clash between Advocate AKM Murtaza Abedin, Jatiya Party Central Committee Vice Chairman, Barishal District Convener, outgoing City Corporation Councilor of ward-2 and his rival Raiz Ahmed Manna, BCC councilor elect of ward-2 and general secretary of Sramik League Barishal city convener.
Both press conferences were held at Barishal Press club on Monday (September 4) noon and afternoon and none of the victim JaPa and accused SL leaders were present at the press conferences.
Till this report no case was lodged by anyone in this connection, said Anwar Hossain, OC of Barishal Kotwali police station.
The press conference was organized by district and city Jatiya Party leaders including Jatiya Party Central Committee member AKM Mustafa and Bashir Ahmed Jhunu and other leaders of JaPa attended the press conference at noon.
AKM Mustafa reading out a written statement said that Jatiya Party Central Committee Vice Chairman and Barisal District Jatiya Party Convenor Barishal City Corporation Councilor Advocate AKM Murtza Abedin has been elected for five consecutive times.
It was allege that terrorist Raiz Ahmed Manna, general secretary of Shramik League Barishal city and his associates carried out a pre-planned attack on life of Murtaza on Sunday (September 03).
The JaPa leader AKM Mustafa further said during the incident, when Murtaza Abedin was alone, while terrorist Manna was with his follower cadres and tried to kill on the street in broad daylight.
The actual incident can be found from the CCTV footage of Port Road.
On the other hand, Jatiya Sramik League and leaders of Barishal city Awami League leaders held a press conference in the same Barishal Press Club at 4:30 PM to protest the attempt to kill the organization’s general secretary Raiz Ahmed Manna in broad daylight.
