3 forest guards go missing at Teknaf

At least three members of a forest guards team went missing in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Friday.

They were supposed to be on duty from 8 am to 11 am on Friday at Nature Park Forest under Mochoni Beat in Hnila union of the upazila but they remained missing since then.

The missing members have been identified as Mohammad Shaker, 24, Abdur Rahim, 37, and Abdur Rahman, 32.

They are the inhabitants of Domdomia area in Hnila union of the upazila and members of CPG Forest Guard team.

Mohammad Osman, team president of Nature Park Mochoni Forest Guard confirmed the matter to the media on Saturday.

Mohammad Osman, president of the forest guard team, said three staffs of the park entered the forest to guard the forest on Friday morning.

But even though they were supposed to return around 11 pm, there was no trace of them till evening and their mobile phones were also found to be switched off.

Due to this, the family members are panicked.

It is believed that the Rohingya terrorists in Teknaf hill often capture people and demand ransom, this may also be happened with the missing people, he said.
