Six JnU BCL activists suspended over mourning Sayeedi’s death

Six Jagannath University (JnU) unit BCL activists were suspended from the unit for allegedly mourning the death of war criminal Delwar Hossain Sayedee in social media.

In a press release signing JnU unit BCL President Ibrahim Farazi and General Secretary S M Akhter Hossain on Sunday, said that Md. Isha, Jarif Tajwar, Md. Masum Billa, Shafiqul Islam Apon, Afia Akter and Hasan Islam Sun were suspended for engaging in against the discipline and policy of the organization.

Hasan Islam Sun, a suspended activist, expressed himself as innocent.

“I was a BCL activist in Pabna.

Later in the university, I was also an activist of BCL, following Akhter bhai. I believe Sayedee was an islamic scholar.

I shared a post from my religious perspective”, he said.
