Dhaka Abahani Limited of Bangladesh will take on Mohun Bagan AC of India in their play-off match of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup Qualifiers at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, the former capital city of India today.
The match will kick-off at 7.30pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).
The winning team of the prestigious play-off match will play in the group phase of the AFC Cup Qualifiers, which is scheduled to be start from September 18.
Dhaka Abahani Limited beat Club Eagles of Maldives by 2-1 goals in their play-off match at Sylhet District Stadium on August 16.
On the other hand, Mohun Bagan AC defeated Machindra FC of Nepal by 3-1 goals in their play-off match at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on the same day.
Dhaka Abahani Limited left the city for Kolkata on Monday.
They took part in their practice session at the Salt Lake Stadium yesterday.
On the other hand, Mohun Bagan AC participated their practice session at the same venue on the same day.
Before today’s match, Dhaka Abahani Limited and Mohun Bagan AC faced each other three times.
Of them, Mohan Bagan AC won the two matches, while one match ended in draw.
Mohun Bagan AC defeated Dhaka Abahani Limited by 3-1 goals at the Salt Lake Stadium in their first match and the Kolkata giant beat the Dhaka giant by 3-1 goals in their third match at the same venue.
Dhaka Abahani Limited drew 1-1 with Mohun Bagan AC in their second clash at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
