Rangpur Bus Depot moving forward to become profitable enterprise

Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) Rangpur Bus Depot is moving forward day by day to become a profitable enterprise after overcoming losses.
Officials and employees said that the institution has turned into a profitable institution since the time of the current Chairman (Additional Secretary) Md. Tajul Islam.
According to BRTC depot sources, 51 buses are plying on 22 routes from Rangpur depot. Among them there are 6 double decker buses and 6 new AC buses.
The buses are Rangpur-Panchgarh, Rangpur-Pirojpur, Haripur-Chapainawabganj in Thakurgaon, Bhrungamari-Chapainawabganj in Kurigram, Lakshnipasha in Kurigram-Satkhira, Kurigram-Gopalganj, Mongla in Panchagarh-Khulna, Burimari in Lalmonirhat-Benapole Port in Jessore, Ranishankoil in Rangpur-Dinajpur, Chilmari of Digram- Debiganj in Dinajpur, Tunirhat-Gaibandha in Panchagarh, Sakya of Rangpur-Nilphamari and Domar of Pagalapi from Pirganj of Rangpur- Sapahar Rangpur Gopalganj Rangpur-Nilphamari Chilahati, Rangpur-Lalmonirhat Burimari, Rangpur-Rajshahi Concert, Panchagarh Debiganj via Netrakona, Nilphamari to Rangpur Shathibari.
Rangpur Bus Depot official DGM Golam Furook said that there are currently two officers and more than 150 employees and workers working in Rangpur depot.
A lion’s share has been paid out of Tk 2 crore 27 lakh, including dues of workers.
Monthly salary of Rangpur Depot workers, officers and employees has been paid through Pahela Bangkhak.
Under the direction of the current chairman, Md. Tajul Islam, a training center has been established in the Tajhat area of Rangpur city in its own place.
About three hundred women and seven hundred men from different areas of Rangpur region have taken driving training from this center and made their families self-reliant.
7 people including one officer are working in the training center.
Chairman of BRTC Tajul Islam has directed the concerned to make the training center a new training center.
The training center will have state-of-the-art facilities.
There will be accommodation for the trainees with modern facilities for training.
Rangpur Depot DGM Golam Farooq said that all the promises made by BRTC Chairman to the people of Rangpur for the modernization of Rangpur Bus Depot are now on the way to implementation.
