National Mourning Day observed

The National Morning Day and 48th martyrdom of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shaikh Mujibor Rahaman was observed in Bagerhat District Town and it’s all the nine Upazilas with profound respect as else where of the country on Tuesday.
Bangabandhu and most of his family members were brutally killed by some disgruntled army men on the fateful night of August 15, 1975 and this carnage in touted as the ugliest chapter of the nation’s history Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatun Nesha Mujib, 26 others people including their family members and relatives of the history.. Apart from Bangabandhu and his wife Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatun-Nesha Mujib, 26 other people including their family members and relative were killed that night.
Marking the day, different government, semi-government, autonomous bodies, socio-cultural organizations, educational institutions and Awami League, party in power and its all the front organizations arranged various programmers.
The programmers included hoisting of national flags at half-mat atop all the government, semi-government and private buildings, placing of floral wreaths at the moral of Bangabandhu, adjacent to the local central Shahid Minar in the mourning ( at about 9 am ).
Md. Khalid Hossain, DC, Bagerhat placed the floral wreaths on the moral on be half of Bagerhat District Administration while K M Ariful Haq placed the floral wreaths on the moral on be half of Bagerhat District Police .
It was followed with a mourning rally that started from the moral of Bangabandhu paraded the main roads of the district town and ended at Swadhinata Udyan and it was led by Md. Khalid Hooain, DC, Bagerhat.
After the end of the rally a discussion meeting was held in Swadhinat Udyan with Md. Kamruzzamn Tuku, Chairman of Bagerhat Zila Parishad and President of Bagerhat district unit Bangladesh Awmi League while it was addressed by Md. Khalid Hossain, DC, Bagerhat as the chief guest. K M Ariful Haq, Police Super, Bagerhat as special guests and some others including Adv. Hemayet Bhuiya, Geeral Secretary of Bagerhat district Awami League.
Screening of documentary film show on the life and works of Bangabanhdu and special Doa Mahfils in all the religious institutions were also included in the deay’s programmes.
Kurigram Correspondent says: The 48th death anniversary of founding president of the country and father of the nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed on Tuesday.
The government, political parties and different socio-political and cultural organizations have undertaken elaborate programs to mark the day.
The national flag has been hoisted at half-mast a top of all government, semi government, autonomous organizations, educational institutes, non-government offices marking National Mourning Day.
Floral wreath has been placed in the portrait of Bangobandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Trimohoni areas led by President of Kurigram District Unit of Awami League and Chairman of Kurigram Zila Parishad Alhaj Md. Jafar Ali (former MP) where Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Kurigram Zila Parishad Dr. Md. Faridul Islam, member and panel chairman Minhajul Islam Aiyub, member of Zila Parishad Ekramul Haque Bulbul,Awami League leaders, Assistant Engineer Mizanur Rahman and other staff of Zila Parishad have also present.
A doa mahfil was also held conducted by principal of Kurigram Alea Kamil Madrasha Maolana Noor Bakhath.
Then floral wreath has also been placed in the portrait of Bangobandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Kurigram Zila Parishad office at 7.30 am.
Same Doa Mahfil was also held here and in Zila AL Party office at 8.00 am.
Black badges have also been wear on the cloth hanged on chest holding the picture of Bangobandhu.
People of all walks of lives including Awami League, Juba league, Chatra League and district level office staffs have gathered in Kurigram Bijoy Stambha near Kurigram stadium carrying banner and festoons to attend there at 9.00 am.
Floral wreaths have been paced in the portrait of Bangobandhu step by step and at the end of placing floral wreath.
A Doa Mahfil was also held which conducted by principal of Kurigram Alea Kamil Madrasha Maolana Noor Bakhath.
Security measures have been tighten there.
A discussion meeting on the National Mourning Day has held in Sheikh Resell Auditorium organized by Kurigram district administration and the concern sub-committee at 10.30 am.
Prize giving ceremony was also held there.
Sylhet Bureau reports : On the 48th martyrdom anniversary and National Mourning Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the great architect of freedom, all the martyrs of August 15, including the father of the nation and his family, have been remembered with respect and love in Sylhet.
On Tuesday morning in Sylhet, the Metropolitan Freedom Fighters Command, Sylhet Divisional Administration, District Administration, Police Range, Metropolitan Police, Upazila Administration, various public and private schools, Madrasahs, Colleges, Universities, Awami League and allied organizations, in various places in Sylhet in the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The program of the day started with mourning and tributes from people of all walks of life including political, social, cultural and professional organizations.
People from all walks of life, including officials from all levels of the Sylhet administration, paid tribute to the huge portrait of Bangabandhu located in the premises of the Sylhet District Commissioner’s office.
Later, in the portrait of Bangabandhu located in the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and in the portrait of Bangabandhu located in the premises of the District Council, Sylhet District and Metropolitan Awami League, Jubo League, Women’s Awami League, Sramik League, Krishak League, Chhatra League, Tanti League, Svechchasevak League and other political, social, cultural and professional organizations.
Meanwhile, various universities of Sylhet have organized various programs on the occasion of the 48th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Agricultural University, Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Medical University, Sylhet Metropolitan University, Sylhet International University, Sylhet Leading University, North East University and all public and private institutions have observed the National Mourning Day separately through various arrangements.
Baraigram (Natore) Correspondent says: The National Mourning Day was observed with wreath laying at Bangabandhu’s mural, special prayers and a discussion meeting in Baraigram upazila of Natore district.
The meeting was held at the Upazila Auditorium on Tuesday.
UNO Alhaj Mrs Marium Khatun presided over the meeting.
It was addressed among others by Additional Superintendent of Police (Baraigram Circle) Sharif Al Rajeeb, Upazila Chairman Alhaj Dr. Md. Siddikur Rahman Patwari, Bonpara Municipal Mayor KM Zakir Hossain, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Burhan Uddin Mithu, Upazila Agriculture Officer Sharmin Sultana, Baraigram Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abu Siddique and others.
Besides, a discussion meeting was held on the day in Bonpara Municipal Auditorium under the chairmanship of Bonpara Municipal Mayor KM Zakir Hossain and in Baraigram Municipal Meeting under the chairmanship of Baraigram Municipal Mayor Majedul Bari Nayan.
Chattogram Bureau reports : East Delta University (EDU) observed the 48th death anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the visionary architect of liberation and the Father of the Nation on Tuesday with unwavering dignity, the university community came together to pay homage to the monumental leader and his enduring legacy.
EDU held a Mourning Day discussion .
The national flag was lowered to one-fourth of the flagpole’s length at sunrise, signifying the nation’s profound grief and respect for the esteemed leader.
EDU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Muhammad Sekandar Khan, graced the occasion as the esteemed chief guest.
Reflecting on the unparalleled character of Bangabandhu, he remarked “Bangabandhu’s unwavering faith and profound affection for the Bengali people are a testament to his remarkable greatness as a leader.
His legacy remains a unique beacon of inspiration for all of us.”
The discussion was presided over by EDU’s Treasurer Professor Shams-Ud Doha, who illuminated the gathering with insights into the magnanimity and foresight of the Father of the Nation.
He emphasized, “To honor Bangabandhu’s dream of Golden Bangladesh, it is incumbent upon each of us to dedicate ourselves from our respective spheres.
Through rectifying our past mistakes, we can artfully shape the future of our beloved nation”.
Jamalpur Correspondent adds: The National Mourning Day and 48th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed here in a befitting manner today.
District Administration, District Awami League, various institutions and sociocultural organisations took out elaborate programmes to observe the day.
The programmes included placing floral wreaths, discussion meeting, screening of documentary film, Doa Mahfil and food distribution.
On the day, national flag was hoisted at half-mast in all government, semi-government, autonomous, private buildings and educational institutions.
