Body of youth recovered in Gournadi

The dead body of Salahuddin Peyada (35), recovered by fire service on Sunday after he jumped into the Palordi River following chasing by unidentified persons on early Saturday in Gournadi upazila of Barishal district.

Bipul Hossain, station officer of Gournadi Fire Service and Civil Defense Station, said on receiving the information, leading a team of firemen from Gourandi Fire Service and Civil Defense station he rushed to the spot , but did not make a preliminary search at night due to darkness.

Later the diving unit called from Barishal river fire service station and started the rescue work.

Then on Sunday around 11 o’clock, the body was found in the Miar Char area of Arial Khan river.

The body was recovered from there and handed over to the police.

Salahuddin Peyada (35), son of Jabbar Peyada of Diashur area under Gournadi upazila went on missing after jumping into the Palradi river of Gournadi upazila on early Saturday August 12, 2023.

Local tea shopkeeper Rubel said that around 12:30 pm early Saturday, turning light we saw a person jumping into the river started swimming.

Then two people asking me to turn off the light said they came from the police station.
