Youths held along with ambulance

Two youths were arrested on the charge of carrying ganja in an ambulance by the police of Morrelganj PS from Purbo Saralia within Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat recently.

According to a delayed report received here.

The arrested persons are Md. Raju Shaikh (30) , owner cum driver of the ambulance hails from the village Shialkathi under Pirojpur district and Rahat Hossain Parvez (17), helper (of the ambulance) hails from the village Gabura in Satkhira district.

Md. Saifur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Morrelganj PS told, acting on secret information a police squad of the PS searched the ambulance and recovered ganja.

The ambulance carrying a patient from Khulna Medical College Hospital reached Tetulbaria area where the patient alighted from it.

After then the ambulance was waiting at Purbo Saralia area for handing over ganja to some one.

At that time a police squad appeared there, arrested the drug traders, seized the ambulance, 2 mobile phones, cash TK, 2 thousand and ( recovered ) ganja.

In this connection a case was registered with the PS against the drug trades under Anti Narcotic Act.
