JaPa wants registered BNM to be allotted different symbol

City Desk  :
The Jatiya Party (JaPa) has demanded that Bangladesh Nationalist Movement (BNM) be allotted a different symbol than “anchor.”

The party said BNM’s party symbol looks similar to JaPa’s “plough” symbol and that “people will be confused” when balloting.

Jatiya Party Secretary General Md Mujibul Haque Chunnu has written a formal letter to the Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal on Sunday.

“The matter has come to our attention after a gazette was published allotting the anchor symbol to BNM.

In the past, there has been an example of removing the ship symbol from the list in the face of Awami League’s demand,” Chunnu said.
