Bangamata’s birth anniv observed in Seoul

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul, South Korea observed the 93rd birth anniversary of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib on Tuesday.

Expatriate Bangladeshis living in South Korea and Embassy officials took part in the event.

Ambassador Delwar Hossain, in presence of expatriate Bangladeshis and embassy officials, paid homage to the memory of Bangamata by placing wreaths at her portrait, reports UNB.

A special prayer was offered for the salvation of the departed souls of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib, Father of the Nation, and their martyred family members, as well as for the continued peace and prosperity of the country.

Embassy officials read out the messages of the president and the prime minister.

A documentary on the life of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib was also screened during the programme.

In the discussion session, the discussants highlighted the glorious life and contributions of Bangamata.

Ambassador Delwar Hossain in his speech, paid rich tribute to the memory of Bangamata.

He highlighted various aspects of her life and her contribution to the attainment of independence and the reconstruction of the country.

He added that her life and works would remain a source of inspiration for the people of Bangladesh, particularly the Bangalee women.
