UP member, associate sent to jail

Police arresting Lutfar Rahman alias Rubel Patwari, a resident of Panbaria area and member of Ward No. 9 of Ulania Union Parishad of Mehendiganj and his associate Imrul Kayes of Ambikapur area of Mehendiganj Municipality, sent to Barishal jail on Saturday afternoon.
Confirming the matter, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Mehendiganj Police Station Shahabuddin Howladar said on early Saturday, a raid was conducted on a under construction building in Ambikapur area of Mehendiganj municipality based on secret information. At that time police arresting the both recovered eight pieces of Yaba tablets from them.
They have been sent to jail after producing before the courta case has been lodging a case under the Narcotics Control Act against the arrestees on Saturday (August 5), said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mehendiganj Police Station Shafiqul Islam.
