Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) Harunur Rashid said it to journalists on Thursday afternoon.
Besides, Nur was forcibly released from Universal Medical College and Hospital at Mohakhali in the capital on Thursday.
He was admitted to the hospital as he suffered head injuries during an attack on him by activists of the ruling Awami League-backed Bangladesh Chhatra League on the Dhaka University campus on Wednesday afternoon.

Nur was released from the hospital forcibly and then shifted to Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital at about 4:00pm, said the party leader, Abu Hanif.
Earlier on the day, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and several other senior BNP leaders visited Nur at the hospital and inquired about his health and treatment.
Later, at a press briefing, Fakhrul said that the ruling party activists and police had been attacking the opposition leaders and activists to terrorise them.
