Price hike of ginger, chilli

The prices of ginger and green chillies have started to fall rapidly as the supply in the market increases. Three days ago, raw chillies were sold at Tk 250 and ginger at Tk 300 per kg in the retail market of Ishwardi. On Sunday and Monday, the prices of green chillies were reduced to Tk 150-160 and ginger was seen to be sold at Tk 160-180 per kg. Earlier, green chillies were sold at Tk 450 and ginger at Tk 400 per kg.
While the wholesalers sell raw chillies at Tk 110-120 per kg, retail market sells them at Tk 150-160. 140-150 per kg ginger. 180-200 in the retail market. However, it was seen selling ginger at the price of Tk 160 per kg with a microphone installed in the van. On Monday morning, a crowd of retail buyers gathered during the sale of ginger at Tk 160 per kg by van.
A few days before Eid, the prices of ginger and green chillies started increasing in the market. Traders said production has been reduced due to adverse weather conditions. Due to this, prices have increased due to shortage in supply. Wholesalers of ginger said that the supply of ginger and green chillies has increased in the market.
