Water bus sinks in Buriganga, four recovered

Four bodies have been recovered from the Buriganga River after a waterbus sank in the river after being hit by a sand-laden bulkhead on Sunday night.
Several people are still missing in this incident. Fire service and coast guard divers searched for them until midnight on Sunday.
According to sources, the waterbus carrying around 40 to 50 passengers sank in the river after being hit by a sand-laden bulkhead in Telghat area under Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka.
Anwarul Islam Dolon, media cell officer of Fire Service headquarters, the waterbus capsized near the riverbank for which it can be assumed that most of the people swam ashore. About 8/10 passengers have still remained missing.
According to Naval Police, the deceased are a woman, two men, and a minor boy. Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. The bodies have been kept at Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The number of deaths may be increased, Naval police added.
