BARI holds workshop on pest management

The Entomology Division of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) has arranged a day-long knowledge sharing workshop on “Integrated Pest Management packages of different crops in Bangladesh” at the Seminar Room of the institute on Monday.
BARI, BRRI, BWMRI scientists, teachers of various agricultural universities, high level officials of DAE, NGOs and various pesticide companies were participated in the workshop which is arranged collaboration with International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) and Virginia Tech (VT).
BARI Director General Dr. Debasish Sarker presided over the workshop while Additional Secretary (Planning Wing) of Ministry of Agriculture Mr. Md. Mahbubul Haque Patwary was present as the chief guest. Director (Support & Services) Dr. Ferdouse Islam and Director (Planning & Evaluation) Dr. Dilwar Ahmed Choudhury were present as special guests.
Former Director, BARI & Senior Consultant, CIMMYT-Bangladesh Dr. Syed Nurul Alam was present as guest of honor. Chief Scientific Officer & Head of the Entomology Division Dr. Nirmal Kumar Dutta gave the welcome address and brief presentation on ‘IPM Research at BARI: Recent Achievements’
