BSMMU postgraduate doctors to stage strict protest if demands won’t met

The postgraduate doctors of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) announced to stage a mass assembly if the demands will not be met within Saturday.
Jabir Hossain, President of the Post Graduate Private Trainee Doctor’s Association announced this on Monday at a demonstration in front of the National Museum.
“There is a possibility of a meeting regarding this issue within two days. A decision can be made there. However, if a specific proposal is not received within Saturday, a mass assembly will be called on Sunday,” Jabir Hossain said.

Earlier on Sunday, they blocked the Katatbon-Shahbag road beside the medical university to press their demands for increased wages and allowances and timely payments.
Currently, the trainee doctors (FCPS, MD, MS Diploma course completed doctors) across the country get Tk 20,000 as allowance. But they demanded to increase their allowance to Tk 50,000.
After passing four hours, BSMMU Vice Chancellor Dr Sharfuddin appeared to the protesters to calm down the students, and said, “Following your demands, I have managed to pay your arrears.
