2 killed in Tangail Head-on collision

Two passengers of a CNG run auto-rickshaw were killed after being a head-on collision with a brick-carrying truck at Kalihati upazila in Tangail. Seven more people were also injured in this connection; two of them are in very critical condition.
Atiqul Islam, In-charge of Tangail General Hospital Police Box said that the incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in Nagarbari area of Bhuapur-Tangail regional road. After the incident, the injured have been sent to Tangail General Hospital.
Identity of one deceased has been found; he is Saiful Alom (38), son of Abdur Rashid of Khanurbari area of Gobindasi Union of Bhuapur Upazila. However, till writing of this report, the identities of the other deceased and injured were not available immediately.
Quoting locals, Atiqul Islam said that a truck carrying bricks was heading towards Tangail from Bhuapur. The autorickshaw was coming from Elenga from the opposite direction. While reaching at Nagarbari area, the truck lost control and the two vehicles collided with head-on leaving nine people injured. When the injured were rescued and taken to Tangail General Hospital, the doctor on duty declared two dead.
