AL team to visit India this month on BJP invitation

Staff reporter  :
The ruling party of India, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has taken an initiative to bolster its relations with political parties from various countries, with a particular focus on neighboring nations. In line with this objective, the BJP has extended an invitation to Bangladesh Awami League (AL) to visit India.
The invitation comes ahead of Bangladesh’s national election to be held at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.

According to AL sources, a delegation from Awami League is scheduled to visit New Delhi at the end of this month. AL Organizing Secretary, Sujit Roy Nandi, confirmed it to this correspondent saying that a five-member delegation, led by party’s Presidium member and Agriculture Minister, Muhammad Abdur Razzaque, has been formed as a representative team. “We are going to Delhi in response to BJP’s invitation within this month,” he said.

The delegation will also include Dr. Hasan Mahmud, AL Joint General Secretary and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Sujit Ray Nandi, AL Organising secretary, Tarana Halim, AL Central Executive Committee member, and Aroma Datta, Member of Parliament representing the reserved women’s seat.
The delegation is expected to hold meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President J.P. Nadda, and other key leaders, including the BJP’s General secretary.
Moreover, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the President of Awami League, has received an invitation as a distinguished guest to participate in the G20 Summit scheduled to be held in Delhi in September. Preparatory to the Prime Minister’s visit, discussions on bilateral issues and several important meetings are anticipated with representatives.

Undoubtedly, the visit of the Awami League delegation holds immense significance. It is worth mentioning that in a prior diplomatic endeavor, a 17-member AL delegation visited China on May 21 upon the invitation of the Communist Party of China.
