Covered van driver killed in Madhukhali

A covered van of Jessore-bound SA Paribahan (Dhaka Metro U 14-1273) collided head-on with a passenger transport of Golden Line (Dhaka B 15-0615) leaving from Magura direction at Goreda Mor of Dhaka-Khulna highway in Arpara Union of Madhukhali Upazila of Faridpur on Thursday morning. Covered van driver Russell Sheikh (35) and cell supervisor Md. When Nurunnabi (55) were seriously injured, Local people rescued them and took them to Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty declared the injured driver dead and discharged the injured cell supervisor with first aid. The driver of the covered van, Russell Sheikh, is the son of Mohammad Ali Sheikh of Charkanda village of Companiganj police station of Noakhali district.
On the other hand, the driver and helper of Golden Line Transport are absconding. The covered van and transport bus involved in the accident and the body of the deceased is in the custody of the Karimpur Highway Police.
