Bangladesh-Afghanistan 1st ODI today

Sports Reporter :
Highly motivated Bangladesh Cricket team will take on Afghanistan Cricket team in the first One Day International (ODI) match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, the port city of the country today. The game will start at 2.00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live.
Earlier, Afghanistan Test Cricket team came Bangladesh to play one-off Test against the Tigers. Bangladesh thrashed Afghanistan by 546 runs in the lone Test match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on June 17. The Test match came to an end within four days.

Before today’s match, Bangladesh and Afghanistan faced each other in the 11 ODI matches. Of them, Bangladesh registered seven victories, while Afghanistan won four matches. It is noteworthy that Afghanistan played a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh in February 2022 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. The Tigers won the series 2-1.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Tamim Iqbal said, ” The wickets of Chattogram usually favoured for the batters. I hope the wickets of this ground will be batting wickets. I think the early 10 overs will be challenging for the both teams.”
The wickets of Chattogram are also grassy.

Tamim said, ” Most of the pacers of Bangladesh will get chance to play in the Afghanistan ODI series. Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Ebadot Hossain, Shoriful Islam all the pacers will get chance to play. All the pacers are doing well. So, there will be different combination of pacers in the three matches.”
The dashing opener said, ” I’m not physically cent percent fit. But I shall play tomorrow. I shall be available tomorrow.”

The Team Management of Bangladesh Cricket team has planned to give chance to all the batters in the upcoming three ODI matches.
Though Bangladesh recorded a massive victory in the lone Test match against Afghanistan, Tamim thinks there will be a battle inside the 22 yards in the upcoming ODI series. Last year Bangladesh won the ODI series 2-1. The left-handed opener said, ” I hope Bangladesh will win the three-match series exact the difference of the last ODI series between the two teams. They are good side in white-ball match. Specially they have a good bowling attack.”
Captain of Afghanistan Cricket team Hashmatullah Shahidi said, ” The lone Test match gave us a lesson. We are now prepared. We took part in a 15-day long coaching camp in Abu Dhabi recently. We have spinner Rashid Khan with us. When he play with us, we get confidence. I hope there will be competitive matches between the two teams.”
