Inter-cropping with sugarcane can be beneficial
Ishwardi (Pabna) Correspondent :
Inter-cropping with sugarcane can be beneficial. Farmers need to understand and learn the use of technology to further develop the sugarcane industry. If there is a sugar deficiency in the diet of children, then there is a problem in intellectual development.
Therefore, sugarcane is a very important crop. Although the consumption of sugar is not directly visible in our daily food list, almost all foods have more or less sugar consumption and requirement. So the farmer brothers have to cultivate more sugarcane. This is how the speakers reacted about sugarcane in the workshop titled “Using various technologies developed by BSRI with the participation of stakeholders in the implementation of the National Purification Strategy Action Plan” at the Bangladesh Sugarcrop Research Institute ( BSRI ).
Director General Dr. Omar Ali was the chief guest at this workshop held in BSRI Auditorium on Tuesday. The workshop was chaired by BSRI Director (TOT) Ismat Ara. General Manager (Finance) Hiranmoy Biswas, General Manager (Agriculture) Ashab Uddin of North Bengal Sugar Mill Limited were special guests.
The workshop was organized by Dr. Mahbubur Rahman (PSO), conducted by Scientific Officer Nusrat Jahan Upma. The workshop was attended by scientists, sugar mill officials, journalists and farmers.
