NBJF gets new committee Mokarram President, Mufdi Gen Secretary

The special annual general meeting of North Bengal Journalist Forum (NBJF) has elected a 23-member new executive committee with Mokarram Hossain, Editor of The New Nation as President and Mufdi Ahmed, Editor of Dainik Ananda Bazar as General Secretary of the forum for a two-year term.

Adviser and also a former President of the BNJF, MA Aziz, presided over the special AGM, held at a city restaurant on Saturday. A large number of journalists from the region, comprising 16 districts, participated in the meeting.
Notable personalities who serve the forum as advisers Alamgir Mohiuddin, Editor of Dainik Naya Diganta, Lutfur Rahman, Shamsul Haque Durrani, Sheikh Enamul Haque, and the outgoing president Modabbir Hossain were also present.

Office bearers of the committee are: Vice Ptresidents — Shahnewaz Dulal and Gaosul Azam Bipu (GTV), Joint secretary — Mohammad Abdul Basit Mia, Treasurer — Saifunnahar Sumi (Daily Messenger), Office Secretary — Panchayet Habib (Daily Inqilab), Organing Secretary — Akhtarujjaman Rocky (Bhorer Pata), Sports and Cultural Secretary — Moshiur Rahman (Daily Anandabazar) and Information and Publicity Secretary — M Umur Farooq (Sangbad Sarabela).

The EC members of committee comprise journalists representing different media outlets of the country. The members include M Modabbir Hossain (Bangladesh Pratidin), Anwar Uddin, Abu Yusuf (Daily Sangram), Shamsul Haq Bosunia (Amader Arthoneeti), Jamil Ahshan Shipu (Ittefaq), Suman Mustafi (Mohona Television), Abdullah Al Mamun (Jugantor), Ahmed Mushfiq Najnin (Ekushey TV), Ziaul Islam (Prothom Alo), Ruhol Amin (Bhorer Kagaj), Aminul Islam (Amader Arthoneeti), MJ Islam (Financial Post), and Ahsan Habib Sabuj (Breaking News).
