‘Conspiracies against BD at home, abroad’

Staff Reporter :
Awami League General Secretary also Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has alleged that conspiracies are being hatched at home and abroad against Bangladesh ahead of the national polls and asked BNPSecretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to withdrawn his adverse remarks and apologize to the nation.

Obaidul Quader made the assertions while speaking at a meeting organised by the Krishak League at the Bangabandhu Avenue central office of Awami League in the city on Thursday morning.

“Those who talk high and lie in the name of politics and complain to foreigners so that Bangladesh fallinto more trouble. So that Bangladesh cannot continue with its capacity.

A section of people are hiring lobbyists with crores of Taka in abroad. Even if they are not in power, but they have that money,” Obaidul Quader said while reacting to a letter written by six members of the European Union and six US congressmen which stated that human rights are being violated in Bangladesh.

“The country is ours but the headache is theirs,” he said.

A section of people are getting excited thinking there may be a sanction at any time on the Awami League government, but they were daydreaming, he said adding that those people are also thinking the Awami League government fell into the visa policy sanctions.

Obaidul Quader said the late Zafrullah Chowdhury had termed BNP a broken-knee (hatu bhanga) party as they failed in all their movements. Now, BNP cannot stand straight in fear of losing the elections.
