Nat’l Nutrition Week begins in dists

SYLHET: Civil Surgeon's Office, Sylhet brought out a rally on the occasion of the National Nutrition Week on Wednesday.

The National Nutrition Week was started in Sylhet with the theme ‘if the nutrition base is strong, Bangladesh will be smart’. Divisional Director (Health) of Sylhet Division Dr. Shariful Hasan has been temporarily installed in the Ishwardi Municipality premises to make people aware of the dire effects of plastic waste on the environment. inaugurated the programme on Wednesday .
The week was inaugurated on Wednesday with a rally and discussion at Civil Surgeon’s Office.
In the opening speech Dr. Shariful Hasan said that nutrition is the constitutional right of people. To build a functional and talented nation, nutrition should be ensured among all.
The present government is sincere in protecting this fundamental right of people. All of us especially health workers at all levels have an important role to play in creating awareness about nutrition among people.
Sylhet Civil Surgeon Dr.SM Shahriar presided over and Medical Officer of Sylhet Civil Surgeon’s Office Dr. Shopnil Shawrab Ray conducted the programme. The Assistant Director (Disease Control) of the Departmental Health Director’s Office Dr. Nur Alam Shamim was present as a special guest. Jr. Consultant CDC. Sheikh Kabir Ahmed, Divisional Consultant NTP, Sylhet Division Dr. Shahid Anwar, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Janmejoy Datta. Dr. Snigdha Talukdar (MO, DRS), Dr. Maimun Nahar (MO), Dr. Bhaskar Bhattacharya (MO), Dr. Annie Dey, Dr. Tuli Sharma, Dr. Jahan Dr. symbols etc. Also, various levels of officials and employees of Sylhet’s Khadim Para Hospital, CDC, CDH, Leprosy Hospital, Civil Surgeon’s Office and Divisional Director (Health) Office of Sylhet Among others present at the event.
BSS from Rangamati says : The National Nutrition Week was began Wednes day in Rangamati with the theme “If the nutrition base is strong – Smart Bangladesh will be sure”.
Rangamati Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Md. Shahiduzzaman Mohsin Roman inaugurated the National Nutrition Week-2023 at Rangamati Sadar Upazila Conference Room this afternoon.
Rangamati Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Najma Binte Amin presided over the inaugural ceremony.
Sadar Upazila Vice-Chairman Dugeshwar Chakma, Rangamati Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Vinod Sekhar Chakma, Rangamati Sadar Upazila Social Service Officer Abdur Rashid, among others, spoke.
The speakers said, everyone was invited to work together to make the common people living in the remote rural areas of Rangamati district more aware about nutrition.
Sr Staff Reporter from Kishoreganj reports : The National Nutrition Week was began on Wednesday in the district like elsewhere in the country.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Kishoreganj formally inaugurated the National Nutrition Week-2023 at local Collectorate Building .
Civil Surgeon( CS) Office including District Administration in Kishoreganj arranged a colour full rally, discussion, seminar and cultural function marking national nutrition week ( 7 june to June 13) .

Zila Parishad chairman, and ruling Awami League( AL) district president advocate Zillur Rahman, Civil Surgeon ( CS) dr.Saiful Islam and ADC (General) Rubble Mahamud were special guests.
It was addressed among others by, DCS dr. Tareq Anam, Mamunur Rashid, DD in Women Affairs, CAB district president Alam Sarowar Tito, Senior Journalist Saiful Haque Mollah Dulu and Senior journalists Mostafa Kamal.

Madukhali (Faridpur) Correspondent: The Public Health Nutrition Institute arranged a discussion meeting marking the Nutrition Week at Upazila Health Complex Wednesday. President of the Nutrition Committee and UNO Md. Ashiqur Rahman Chowdhury inaugurated the National Nutrition Week by undertaking various programmes.
Acting Upazila Parishad Chairman and Upazila Nutrition Committee Advisor Mohammad Muraduzzaman Murad was present as the chief guest. Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Alvir Rahman, upazila Health Family and Planning Officer Dr. Abdus Salam, Dr. Kabir Sardar, Dr. Arif Hossain, Upazila Education Officer Sirajul Islam and others.
The week-long program includes drawing competition on nutrition in various groups, guest lectures, message dissemination through religious and social media on improving nutrition level, rally on maternal nutrition, success of current government in nutrition sector and child nutrition competition, senior nutrition rally, food security, safe food and Discussion on urban nutrition and distribution of prizes will be held on the concluding day.
