Many OCs unwilling to record theft cases: DB chief
Staff Reporter :
Additional Commissioner of Police (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Mohammad Haron or Rashid said that many police station officers-in-charge (OC) do not want to take cases of theft.
He said this in response to questions from reporters at a press conference organised at DMP Media Center on Thursday (May 25) noon.
Mohammad Haron or Rashid said that many police station’s OCs think that if they take a case of theft, they have to search and suffer.
Because of this, many officials do not want to take the case. But many others (OC) have also suffered a lot.
Besides, many people do not want to file cases when their motorcycles are stolen. So, I would say if any motorcycle is stolen, file a case instead of GD. If the police do not want to take the case, we will take the complaint to the detective office, he added.
