3 SPSC’s students achieved award in different categories

Besides studying and meritorious academic results, students of South Point School & College (SPSC) are pioneers in various extra-curricular activities especially in national and international sports throughout the year.

The students of this institution have achieved Champion Award and Gold Medal in various competitions and Olympiads in different subjects or categories.

In “BDDO Samakal Bangladesh 9th Biology Olympiad-2023” Aariz Anas, a student of Grade-9 (English Medium) of South Point School and College Malibagh achieved the “Upendranath Brahma-chari Champion of the Champions” award.

He received the meritorious award from Science and Technology Minister Architect Yafes Osman through at a function recently.

The regional and national competitions of the festival were held at Sher-E-Bangla Agricul-tural University in the capital on 3 March and 12 May ,2023 respectively. On the other hand, one of the meritorious student Shazia Sharmin Shahadat of South Point School and College (English Medium) won the “Upendranath Brahma-chari Champion of the Champions” award in the 8th National Biology Olympiad held at Sher-E-Bangla Agricultural University in the last year.

It is to be noted that, the South Point School & College is one of the renowned educational centers of the country, which is being run simultaneously from Malibagh, Baridhara, Banani, Mirpur, Uttara and Dholaipar areas in the capital under the patronage of educationist entrepreneurial, Engineer M A Rashid and supervised by Principal Hamida Ali.

She received the award from Deputy Minister of Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury through at a function held at Sher-E Bangla Agricultural University on 2 April and 20 May,2022 respectively. She achieved this award twice in a row.
Meanwhile, in the “World Cup Qualify Chess Asian Zonal 3.2 Championship-2023”, Warsia Khusbu a Grade-5 English Medium student of South Point School and College defeated the players of Sri Lanka and Pakistan along with others competitors of Bangladesh and secured 8th position by scoring 5 points in 9 games. A total of 6 chess players from 6 countries participated in the 9-round competition held over 9 days. Moreover, she is going to get the title of “Women Candidate Master” title by getting 5 points in women’s chess category in zonal 3.2 chess championship in Bangladesh.
