‘Land Service Week 2023’ to begin Monday
Staff Reporter :
The government is going to observe a week-long land service with a view to making people fully aware of smart land services and to raise awareness among the country-men about their civil rights in accessing land services.
Apart from it, some selected land services will be provided on a special priority basis during the land service week.
Against this backdrop, ‘Land Service Week-2023’ will be observed nationwide from May 22 (Monday) to May 28 (Sunday) with the theme ‘Ministry of Land in Smart Land Service’.
The main objective of this year’s Land Service Week is to engage the people of the country as
the main stakeholders of the smart land service inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, to make everyone fully aware of smart land services, Ministry of Land sources said.
The Land Service Week will be observed in continuation of the ‘Smart Land Service Initiative and the National Land Conference 2023’ inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
Therefore, this year’s Land Service Week will not be inaugurated centrally.
In the first phase of establishing smart land management, the Prime Minister inaugurated registration-mutation interconnection, smart land Noksha (Map), smart land record and smart Bhumi Pedia (Land-Pedia) on March 29.
As per the directives of Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, a preparatory meeting for the observing of Land Service Week 2023 was convened earlier this week, with Land Secretary Md. Khalilur Rahman presiding over the proceedings.
Following due approval and careful deliberation on the meeting’s outcomes, instructions have been disseminated nationwide to observe Land Service Week 2023.
On May 22, the respective Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners across the country will inaugurate Land Service Week-2023 locally in their respective jurisdictions.
It is to be noted that expatriate Bangladeshis are presently availing themselves of four types of land services from abroad. Furthermore, there are plans to expand the range of land services offered to expatriates soon.
As a result, a pioneering effort will be made to inform overseas Bangladeshis about Smart Land Services, marking the first of its kind.
Land Service Week 2023 will be held in 8 divisions, 64 districts, 507 upazilas, revenue circles, unions, and municipal land offices, Land Ministry sources said.
During Land Service Week, service booths will be set up in the respective land offices in each district, upazila, and union, either in the local conference room or at a convenient location. Applicable land services will be provided on a priority basis. Besides, information and consultation services will also be offered.
This time, priority will be given to land services through e-Mutation, online land development tax, certified Record of Rights (Khatiyan), and Map services provided by the postal department and the 16122 call centre.
Additionally, detailed information about the Land Ministry’s plan to establish Smart Land Management, along with those initiatives inaugurated by the Prime Minister, will be shared and briefed.
