Dhaka Abahani, Mohammedan win in BPL Football

Bashundhara Kings retained their supremacy in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football beating Chittagong Abahani Limited by two goals to nil in their match at Bashundhara Sports Complex in Dhaka on Friday.
Bashundhara Kings led the points table grabbing 43 points from 16 matches, while Dhaka Abahani Limited took the second position earning 33 points from as many matches.

Dhaka Abahani Limited defeated Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra by 3-1 goals in their match of the Bangladesh Premier League Football at Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on the same day.
In the day’s other match, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited edged past Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited by a solitary goal at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium inGopalganj.

Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited took the third spot earning 22 points from 15 points, while Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra took the fourth position collecting 22 points from as many matches. Though both teams earned same points, by virtue of better goal difference, the black-and-white outfit took the third position.
On the other hand, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited took the fifth spot gaining 21 points from 16 matches.

Brazilian Dorielton of Bashundhara Kings was roughly charged by Chittagong Abahani’s advanced goalie Nayeem in the 16th minute of the play. Thus, the referee awarded a penalty kick in favour of Bashundhara Kings. Bashundhara’s Brazilian recruit Miguel put his team ahead by a spectacular left-footer spot kick.
After the lemon break, Dorielton made it 2-0 by a header using a left side corner from his compatriot Robson Robinho in the 50th minute of the game.
Robinho was roughly charged by Dukhu Mia at the D-box of Chittagong Abahani. But Robinho’s penalty kick was fisted by Chittagong Abahani custodian Nayeem in the 59th minute of the game. Thus, Bashundhara Kings failed to increase the margin.

In Cumilla, Dhaka Abahani’s Costa Rican recruit Daniel Colindres put his team ahead by a forceful shot capitalizing a pass of his teammate Foysal Ahmed Fahim in the sixth minute of the match.
Dhaka Abahani’s Nigerian recruit Emeka Ogbugh made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute of the play.
Emeka increased the tally into 3-0 in the 76th minute of the clash.

Dipok Roy of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra reduced the margin (3-1) in the 85th minute of the encounter.
In Gopalganj, the first half match between Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited ended in a goalless draw.
After the interval, Sazzad Hossain Shakil of the popular Motijheel based out-fit scored the all-important goal in the 52nd minute of the play.
